WELCOME TO THE

GREEN NETWORK OF
RESPONSIBLE RURAL TOURISM

In recent decades alternatives to traditional "sun and sand" tourism have been developed in Spain, for example agrotourism, nature tourism, cultural tourism, cycle tourism, etc. These activities have great potential for promoting sustainable rural development.

At the Green Network we offer a new way to enjoy our regions’ tourism potential: one that respects and cares for each region’s heritage and its natural and social resources. We aim to support and promote those rural touristic establishments which have added value by introducing measures and policies to encourage good governance, respect for the environment and social cohesion.

The tourist establishments which are advertised on this page and form part of the GREEN NETWORK OF RESPONSIBLE RURAL TOURISM have followed a process for joining the network and comply with minimum requirements with regards to good corporate social responsibility practice. Compliance with these requirements entitles an establishment to Level 1 degree of responsibility membership of the Green Network

After this, establishments can decide to increase their level of social responsibility by putting into practice a process of improvements and accreditation of their use of good practice and measures in Corporate Social Responsibility matters with the sustainable rural management code, or through any other valid methodology or certification.
While implementing the chosen improvement plan or certification plan, the establishment will be at Level 2 degree of responsibility

On achieving certification or effective implementation of the improvement plan, the establishment will reach Level 3 degree of responsibility
